UL partners with the Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre (ARTC), which is Asia’s first centre for test-bedding and developing manufacturing technologies, to host an exclusive training program on “Design for Additive Manufacturing.” The five-day hands-on training course will take place at ARTC from August 17-21, 2015.
Based on the UL’s comprehensive AM training curriculum and technical courses, the customized program will assist professional designers, practicing engineers and skilled technicians to gain a working knowledge of techniques for effective AM designs that are manufacturable, functional and compliant.
The Design for AM course will help students to capture benefits of AM through effective design techniques; to have a transition from traditional design techniques and build a foundation for applying DFMA principles to AM; and to develop robust design strategies through hands-on experiential sessions and simulations.
ARTC also partners with the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) to help in launching these courses, to provide subsidies to Singapore citizens and permanent residents. Other partners for the educational program include Dassault Systems, Skills Training for Excellence Programme (STEP) and e2i.
