Formlabs, the designer and manufacturer of powerful and accessible 3D printing systems, and BEGO, a specialist in the field of prosthodontics and implant dentistry, recently announced a partnership that will allow Formlabs’ dental customers to 3D print temporary and permanent crowns and bridges directly for patients with BEGO’s best-in-class dental materials. The ability to use completely digital dental workflows with 3D printed temporary restorations will enable a rapid, low cost, iterative process that improves patient care and case acceptance rates. The partnership is a natural evolution of Formlabs’ recently announced Dental Business Unit and Form 3B.
Dental professionals currently using Formlabs’ Form 3B and Form 2 3D printers will be able to use BEGO resins to 3D print permanent single crowns, inlays, onlays and veneers, and temporary crowns and bridges. This enables dental labs to reduce the cost associated with current crown and bridge fabrication while simultaneously increasing the quality of the end product. The properties of this unique material will offer patients excellent aesthetics, a low tendency to age and discolor, low plaque accumulation, and high comfort due to low cold and heat sensitivity.
