Kanthal introduces AM service for heating applications

As a global technology leader in electrical heating and high-temperature applications, Kanthal launches an additive manufacturing service that disrupts the traditional design of heating elements and components. Together with the new iron-chromium-aluminum (FeCrAl) alloy, Kanthal® AM100, specially developed for 3D-printing, the new service called Kanthal® Additive Manufacturing offers a revolutionary solution for the heating industry.

Kanthal has been focusing on the relatively young area of additive manufacturing to get a full understanding of how to best use the company’s unique materials and expertise in electrical heating solutions to create value for the customer. With superior high-temperature properties, the new Kanthal® AM100 alloy opens the door for new possibilities in high-temperature applications.

Reinforced by the design freedom and rapid prototyping of additive manufacturing, Kanthal pushes to provide better and faster solutions for prototyping and production.

Kanthal sees enormous potential in the transformation from gas to electric heating, a move that will have additive manufacturing as an integral part.
