Materialise, an additive manufacturing software and solutions provider, is collaborating with the full-cloud 3D CAD system, Onshape to integrate 3D Printing functionality into their platform.
The collaboration helps alleviate pitfalls commonly associated with 3D printing workflows by plugging the Onshape community into software technology that facilitates the process of turning their 3D designs into physical parts.
The companies have developed an integration between Onshape and Materialise 3DPrintCloud capable of analyzing and fixing 3D models to ensure printability. Now Onshape can rely on Materialise’s cloud solutions to support their users in 3D printing. The Materialise 3DPrintCloud tools to analyze and repair a design for 3D Printing will be brought to Onshape users through the new 3DPrintCloud Print Preparation app.
Joe Dunne, Partner Program Manager at Onshape says, “Through our combined efforts, Onshape and Materialise aim to make 3D printing technology more accessible to our user community and with its deep experience in providing solutions and services to the additive manufacturing sector, Materialise has substantially augmented our efforts to assist our users in getting their ideas from design stage to 3D printed object.”
