Materialise NV, a provider of 3D software and sophisticated 3D printing solutions, and pioneer in medical image based guide technology, has recently declared the signing of an agreement with the Swiss orthopaedic producer Mathys for the use of Materialise’s Shoulder Guide System.
Hilde Ingelaere, Executive Vice President of Materialise’s Medical Segment, states, “Through our collaboration with Mathys, our goal is to enable even more surgeons to discover the benefits of 3D printing in the planning and execution of total and reverse shoulder replacement surgeries. It is through partnerships like this that we at Materialise continue realizing our mission of developing innovations that result in a better and healthier world. ”
The Materialise Shoulder Guide System, a solution consisting of easy-to-use 3D surgical planning software and patient-specific surgical guides for shoulder surgery, allows surgeons to efficiently and accurately plan shoulder surgeries based on the patient’s unique anatomy. Based on that pre-operative plan, patient-specific guides are designed and 3D printed for use during surgery.
