RS Components, the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc, has launched a new, more advanced model of its RS brand IdeaWerk 3D printer that can handle multiple types of filaments, including Flexible, PLA, ABS, PA/NYLON, PC, HIPS and PVA.
The RS IdeaWerk Pro has many features similar to RS IdeaWerk FDM 3D printer such as build volume of 150 x 150 x 140mm; minimum layer resolution of 0.18mm; and maximum print speed of 30mm3 per hour, which makes it one of the fastest 3D printers in its class. In addition to the multiple filament option, the RS IdeaWerk Pro features a heated bed that can handle 0-120°C and high-temperature extrusion up to 300°C. The printer has additional capabilities, available via the product’s touchscreen, such as temperature adjustment of extruder and heated bed; control of filament (in/out) and XYZ-axis movement; progress and status display; and temperature unit selection.
The RS IdeaWerk Pro is easy to use, lightweight, can handle tough print jobs and delivers exceptional print output, and in addition offers a robust and sturdy construction.
The printer can be used in either online or offline mode with connectivity via SD Card or USB and is compatible with Mac OS and Windows OS versions including XP, Vista, 7 and 8/8.1, without requiring any additional software or accessories.
The RS IdeaWerk Pro augments the complete range of 3D printing products from RS, which include: 3D printers; FDM filaments in a wide range of colours, weights and diameters; DesignSpark Mechanical 3D modelling software and add-ons; and essential accessories such as glue sticks, masking tape, abrasive sheets and trimming knives.
