Formlabs has recently made a new addition to its Formlabs team: Pinshape, one of the fastest growing online 3D printing communities. Founded in 2013 with headquarters in Vancouver, Canada, Pinshape hosts a flourishing marketplace of 3D designs, making it easy to find and print designs while fostering 3D printing education within its community of over 90,000 users.
“We’re proud to welcome Pinshape to Formlabs,” says Max Lobovsky, our co-founder and CEO. “Pinshape is a company that shares the same passion and drive as Formlabs in making sophisticated 3D printing technology widely accessible. Pinshape is one of the fastest growing 3D design marketplaces, and Formlabs wants to make sure Pinshape stays that way. Formlabs is building the biggest desktop 3D printing company in the world, and we want to grow the collaboration part of the ecosystem to the same level.”
Pinshape will operate as a standalone business within Formlabs. Although there won’t see any immediate changes to the Formlabs website, Formlabs users will now have a place to sell and share their 3D designs and discuss their interests within a larger 3D printing community. Pinshape will continue to host educational content, forums, contests, and much more for their thriving community of 3D printing enthusiasts.
